Wir haben uns vorgenommen die Welt zu bereisen und haben uns aus diesem Grund einen Katamaran zugelegt. Dieser wird für die nächsten Jahre unser Zuhause sein. Diese Homepage wird unsere Reise dokumentieren und unsere Sicht der Welt darstellen. Wir freuen uns auf die Menschen die wir kennenlernen werden, die Länder, die Natur und die Herausforderungen die uns auf dieser Reise erwarten.
We have decided to travel the world and for this reason we bought a catamaran. This will be our home for the next years. This homepage will document our journey and present our view of the world. We are looking forward to the people we will meet, the countries, the nature and the challenges that await us on this journey.
WHO WE ARE
1957 geboren, infizierte sie sich mit dem Segelvirus erst spät, dafür um so heftiger und gilt heute im Jahr 2019 als nicht mehr therapierbar. Deshalb wird sie bei uns an Bord als IO (für nicht Gediente, "eins O" gesprochen) eingesetzt. Auf Grund des niedrigeren Ranges werden ihr vom Kommandanten alle Aufgaben delegiert die er nicht gerne ausführt. Trotz dieser schweren Bürde steht der Kommandant immer noch hoch im Kurs. Mag sein das es an seinen jungen Jahren liegt und dadurch immer noch Welpenschutz geniesst.
1962 geboren, wurde er schon sehr früh mit dem Segelsport konfrontiert. Früh entstand die Idee auf eigenem Kiel die Welt zu umsegeln. Mit den notwendigen Scheinen ausgestattet und mittlerweile auch schon ein paar Seemeilen auf eigenem Kiel, sollte zumindest theoretisch das Wissen vorhanden sein um die Unternehmung Weltumsegelung erfolgreich zu gestalten. Auch meine technische Ausbildung sollte alldem, zumindest nicht im Wege stehen. Obwohl, wenn mal wieder alles schief geht was nur schiefgehen kann, ich mich selbst frage, wie wir es bis hierher geschafft haben.
Frei nach dem Motto von Pippi Langstrumpf: "So etwas hab ich noch nie gemacht, deshalb bin ich mir 100% sicher, dass ich es schaffen werde", gehen wir das Projekt an. Dabei steht nicht der Erfolg im Vordergrund vielmehr sehen wir den Weg als Ziel. Wohin er uns führen wird, wer weiss. Auch wenn die Planung sehr umfangreich erscheint ist sie nur Ergebnis jahrelanger Vorbereitung. Wir hoffen weiterhin so flexibel geblieben zu sein unsere Pläne bei neuen Gegebenheiten oder Erkenntnissen situativ anpassen zu können. Wir wünschen uns eine spannende Zeit, viele neue Eindrücke und Menschen die wir als Fremde begegnen und als Freunde wieder verlassen.

Born in 1962, he was confronted with sailing at a very early age. Soon he had the idea to sail around the world on his own keel. Equipped with the necessary certificates and meanwhile already a few nautical miles on his own keel, at least theoretically the knowledge should be available to successfully shape the enterprise circumnavigating the world. Also my technical training should not stand in the way. Although, if once again everything goes wrong that can only go wrong, I ask myself how we made it to this point.
True to Pippi Longstocking's motto: "I've never done anything like this before, so I'm 100% sure I'll make it," we approach the project. The focus is not on success, but on the path to success. Where it will lead us, who knows. Even if the planning seems very extensive, it is only the result of years of preparation. We hope to remain so flexible that we will be able to adapt our plans to new circumstances or findings. We wish ourselves an exciting time, many new impressions and people we meet as strangers and leave as friends again.
